In honor of my special birthday boy today...
One of my favorite things to do with Squish is to make smoothies, or SMOOOOOBIES!!, as he says. {I melt every time...and always snicker to myself that it sort of sounds like boobies...and then wonder when my maturity level will kick in. Maybe around 30??}. It is such a fun and easy activity to do with toddlers, and clean up is a breeze compared to typical craft projects...not to mention you get to eat the final product so in my book it's a win-win!!

This is what we typically toss in the blender. I did not put quantities on most as we just throw in whatever is in the fridge :)
Raspberries
Blackberries
Strawberries {green parts still on}
1 or 2 Bananas
1 container of Coconut Milk Yogurt, usually Strawberry-Banana, Vanilla or Blueberry
Ice
Orange Juice
2 heaping scoops of Coconut Oil
1 scoop of Delicious Greens 8000, found here
Blend away!
...and Happy Birthday! to my darling angel...
{our very first picture together}

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Squish!
ReplyDeleteYou share a birthday with my 11-year old daughter.
And, your mom's blog rocks!
Love your recipes! What kind of blender do you use?
ReplyDeleteYou are going to laugh but it is actually a....Porsche blender. It was Biz's from before we married!! I'm like, Porsche makes blenders??! Apparently they do. I crack up every time I pull it out of the cupboard. High-sterical. X
ReplyDeleteHi Sheridan,
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a few months (LOVE IT), and I wondered if you were Paleo from a photo you posted of your fridge one time. I just read one of your old posts that confirmed you are. I wanted to send you a link to my profile on Robb's provider network:

ReplyDeleteHi Sheridan,
ReplyDeleteI always love reading your blog - such fun! Hope you had a great time celebrating Big Squish's birthday :) Just curious, what brand of coconut oil do you use?? The one I have is mildly palatable if I work it into hot meals, but the texture turns all "waxy" if I try to add it to anything cold... I'm tying to use more of it since it's so darn healthy, but I'm a "texture person" so I have a hard time finding ways to incorporate it into my food that doesn't make me crinkle my nose at the sight... any suggestions?
Thanks so much!!
Lauren
It actually varies! I get anything that is first cold pressed virgin coconut oil. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it turning hard when it gets cold. That is just a property of the oil and it will always do that when it is below 72 degrees! That is why I add ice to my smoothies so there is other chunkiness :) Helps mask it! xx
