One of my friends sent me the link to this commercial a few days ago. It is entitled, El Mejor Trabajo del Mundo. My Spanish is a little rusty, but I believe that translates to The Best Job in the World.
I would have been crying my eyes out if I weren't postpartum, but couple that with the hormones jetting through my body right now I put Niagra Falls to shame as I was watching it. This is such a beautiful and powerful commercial that will touch the heart of every single mother {and grandmother, and father, and anyone else...} that watches it. It really shows without any words how special mommies are and why, although impossibly difficult and overwhelming at sometimes, every sacrifice we make for our children is more than worth it. I'm literally crying again as I type! You will love it. Everyone have a gorgeous weekend and HAPPY EARLY MOTHER'S DAY!

I love it!!! Such a beautiful commerical. They are also showing it in English, I saw it this morning. I believe the last frame says, "The hardest job in the world, is the best job in the world."
ReplyDeleteJust Perfect!
Happy Mothers Day
I'm expecting twins in October, and maybe it's the pregnancy hormones ramping up, but I definitely cried when I saw the English version on TV a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteI am dying to know what you guys named your little guy and how it is goging with three. As a working mom with two little ones of my own I like all the info I can get.

ReplyDeleteDear Sheridan,
ReplyDeleteA random question of etiquette for you!
Today I received a wedding invitation which began:
"Sir Michael and Lady Booth, request the pleasure of your company... etc"
And I couldn't help but wonder whether this is technically correct?! Should it have been "Lady and Sir Michael Booth... "?
Congrats on the little boy - please tell us all about him!!
xxx
I have zero hormonal excuses and I still bawled like a baby the first time I watched it. Absolutely beautiful. Here's the English version for those of you wondering: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NScs_qX2Okk.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
Anon - I think you are correct!! I say *think* because I dug around a little today and couldn't come up with a firm answer, and can't find my Crane blue book, but not only do I believe the woman should come first in general here, when it comes to titles the highest ranking typically is listed first...and Lady is higher than Sir, right? When I have seen invitations with titles, they've been Lord and Lady Xyz, but again in this case Lady supersedes Sir I believe. I'd say they got it wrong, but I'd want to read in Crane's wedding blue book just to see what they say!!
