I'm trying...I'm trying...
:)
Although going from two kiddos to three has been WAY easier - like, light years easier - than going from one to two, the time thing - or lack of it rather - is pretty tough to take. How do I balance having no time to do anything for them or with them individually? How do I have time for ANYthing anymore?? I feel like I am always making food, changing diapers, chasing a child, putting someone in time out, nursing a baby, wiping dirty faces and hands, and I have more, "Is that chocolate or poop?" moments than I can count. Scene in our kitchen this morning. True story. I'm nursing baby, Munch is slapping him on the face with her chocolate almond butter encrusted hands (still crusty from last night...who has time for baths anymore?), Squish just tipped out of his chair and apparently re-sprained his ankle, both older ones want food, so I'm trying to not drop the baby (he's already learned to latch on for dear life), get plates and forks from the cabinet and drawers, heat up turkey, cut turkey, peel peaches, pour glasses of coconut milk all with one hand, fend Squish off of the prunes (he loves prunes...not really a great thing mind you...our toilet looks like a paintball war zone), all the while wondering when the next chance I will have to use the ladies room alone is. Probably in the year 2027, and I'm sure even then a dog will be lying at my feet.
Oh....and then there's work....work?? What is that again? And my poor neglected blog. Le sigh. At least I know it gets easier!
Without further ado, allow me to introduce the newest snuggle muffin of our family, Snooze:
Less than a day old and already loved up <3
(I love that Squish is covered in mud, paint, worm guts, who knows what else and is smearing it all over Snooze. Oh how different life is for a third child compared to the first!)
I am in disbelief when I look back in my car and see this. It definitely takes a good 24 hours to load everyone up.
Our past two weeks in a nutshell
I absolutely LOVE this photo. Just a little snapshot that offers a glimpse into every day life. Nothing fancy, but very special.
My three angels. Heaven on earth.
Ok, now I have major happy thoughts. Heartsies.

i am sure it is hard... but it also looks like bliss. it sounds like you are doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteawww! I can't imagine what your day-to-day life is like!! Your children are adorable though, love that bedhead! lol
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled upon your blog and LOVE that you call your oldest "Squish"...because we do too! :)
ReplyDeleteIt has been awhile since my girls are teens now...but I have 3 kids - the twins and my youngest are 14 months apart! Chaos reigned for years at our house ; )!!
ReplyDeleteYour kiddos are adorable! xo Ashlyn
Do your children have real names? Do you just not wish to share?
ReplyDeleteAnon - no, they don't have real names ;)
ReplyDeleteI will always keep them private.
:)
DeleteAwesome blog, true and so funny Sheridan:) Hugs woman!
DeleteSounds like crazy happiness around there! After finding out yesterday that *again* I am not pregnant (will be 40 in December and haven't been able to conceive) my thought is that my husband and I will once and for all close the door on the idea of parenthood in Dec. All of this chaos sounds like part bliss & part overwhelmingly just too much! You are very lucky to have these babies, but while I may not be able to enjoy the journey of parenthood, a little part of me may feel like I've dodged a bullet come the end of the year, ya know? I will spend the rest of my days being a REALLY great aunt and will travel the globe. We all have our own path, it's finding the joy & acceptance in that path that is the real challenge at times. You are doing a great, great job & your babies are just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnon - do one thing for me (for yourself really) - switch to a paleo diet and read Chris Kresser's Healthy Baby Code. I know tooooo many women who were about to resort to ivf or something like that due to lack of ability to conceive, they cut out grains, rice, legumes, dairy, wheat and sugar (paleo), and poof! Pregnant in a few months after years of trying. What have you got to lose?! Let me know how it goes, and email me if you want to talk more. Hello@sheridanfrench.com xxx
ReplyDeleteSheridan,
ReplyDeleteYou are Wonder Woman! Snooze is beautiful! Congrats! I love reading your blog :)
Gretchen
As a mother of 3 kids (3 1/2, 2, & 9 mos) I don't know if I can say it gets much easier. :) I can't imagine working @ this point! Good luck! If anyone can do it, you can!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness- you have your handful!! They are adorable :) I am sure you are exhausted, but they will be there you love on you and that makes it worth it right?!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog!

Congrats on your gorgeous baby boy! Great post--we just had our #3 (4, 2, and 3 mos) and I can relate to the craziness of those first few wild weeks! Good news is things get easier as baby finds a schedule (or at least til he starts moving around!)
ReplyDeleteLoved the photos--I had pinterest boards of 'family' shots I wanted to capture--until I realized that finding (and posing!) 3 simultaneously happy, clean, and dressed kiddos wasn't going to happen often, if ever:) If anyone can crack this code, I think you can, so give us some tips there, ok? Congrats on your little bundle.
PS-Best tool ever for #3-- a great baby sling! Get a one-piece (who has time to fashion a wrap??) made of soft, stretchy materials and snooze can nurse while you dish out breakfast:)
ReplyDeleteGreat blog structure.
ReplyDeleteI would love to follow your beautiful blog! <3 maybe we can follow each other?

love those pics, love this post! Took me back to when mine were young. They are 16, 13, and 10 now... different kind of chaos these days. You are truly blessed and I can tell you really appreciate how brief and special this phase of life is. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteSnooze is probably the most beautiful baby I have ever seen! Absolutely gorgeous! Your piece of heaven is wonderful and while at times it may be overwhelming the joys will outweigh everything else! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter had 3, I discovered I had to have help crossing streets. Not enough hands. I wouldn't try the grocery store with 3 that age. Picture that!!!!
ReplyDeletePlease!! Your family is gorgeous! Love on them as best you can my oldest is going to college in 2 months???? She was just in an infant carseat , yikes! And you are soooooooo skinny! Off to make a smoothie;) congratulations on your new miracle:))
ReplyDeletecongrats sheridan!! you have a beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous babies, girl. I should frame that Tina Fey photo for my home office. I read "Bossy Pants" a few months ago. ROFL. Loved Tina's story about having Oprah on her show, taping the first Sarah Palin skit on SNL and hosting her toddler's birthday party, all in one weekend.
ReplyDeletemost gorgeous family ever!! So thrilled for you, Sheridan!
ReplyDeleteY'all are amazingly beautiful. I only have one and am already wondering how I'm going to juggle more! What an inspiration you are...I'm amazed you're keeping your head above water!! Can I be that annoying reader that asks a question about something in the photo...? :-) How did you decide on the booster seats you purchased? Do you love them or hate them? Thanks so much, Sheridan! Try to run outside for 20 seconds alone and take a deep breath haha
ReplyDeleteRebecca the two large car seats are Recaro, and the green is Peg Perego. I've had Sunshine Kids car seats and Graco, and neither of those even compare to the two brands we have now. I wish Recaro made an infant seat - id buy it in a second!!!! Recaro I choose bc they make the race car seats and are known for safety (and you can't go wrong with the pretty colors ;) They are called the convertible model I think ?? and last for many weight and height ranges!!! Diapers.com has them all :))) xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sheridan!!!
DeleteHi Sheridan,
ReplyDeleteDon't know if you were aware of this, but the current recommendation is to keep children rear facing until at least age 2. I kept #1 rear facing until 2 1/2. Yes, her legs were long and bumping the back. However, children of this age are quite more comfortable than adults when in this position. The possible trauma to their neck while being front facing is way worse than keeping them rear facing. Please reconsider turning your
