Sneaker Fever

Etoile Isabel Marant Bayley $640 :: Balenciaga Trainer $545 :: Maison Martin Margiela Line 22 Cut Out High Top Sneaker $685 :: Pierre Hardy Metallic High Top $289 SALE :: Prada Low Top Sneaker $370 :: Miu Miu Studded Metallic Cap Toe Sneaker $550 :: Prada VelcroBand High Top $640 :: Maison Martin Margiela Paint Platter Sneakers $535 :: Christian Louboutin Rantus Orlato $745

As much as I love my stilettos, there is something to be said for a great pair of sneakers. The trend is on the rise, particularly with wedge sneakers {ALL the buyers were wearing them up in NYC at Coterie in everything from electric blue suede to silver metallic}, and above is my favorite selection of what is out there right now. These are all VERY high-end mind you, and since I am never one to fork out lots of dough for really trendy items, I got my pair at Urban Outfitters for....wait for it.... $79.00! I LOVE them and they are the most comfortable pair of heels/wedges I own {true story}

{they come in a great neutral as well as a neutral/black combo as well}

Paired with leggings, a chambray shirt, sheepskin vest and lots of gold necklaces tends to be my go-to outfit with them at the moment. If you are looking for something even more inexpensive, I saw these below at Target this morning. Amazing, right?! For the $34.99 price tag you won't find anything for less.

What about you? Are you jumping on the wedge sneaker bandwagon, or will you stick with safer, more classic low tops and high tops?

Happy weekend!

  1. Ha! Love that you are trying this out, and that it hasn't saturated every blog yet--as much as I love to experiment with trends, I know for a fact I would look an awkward Judy Jetson in this one. This the outfit you described sounds tre cool though!! Great inspiration, momma. :)

  2. Kinda cool in theory but actual execution of the trend? Ummm ... methinks not so much. Not many body types (barring super tall, waif thin runway model types) could pull this off. The rest of us might look somewhat cankle-esque. And that's never in fashion! ;)

  3. I know they look great on you, as everything does! A great thought for your next "How I Wore It"!

    But, for moi....tennis shoes are for playing tennis. That's it. Period. And sneakers are for the gym.

    I also wanted to say, thank you for your beautiful article on breast feeding way back when. It was truly inspiring.
